Think Smartgrids France

Established in April 2015, Think Smartgrids aims to develop the Smart grids sector in France and to promote French solutions in Europe and around the world.

Think Smartgrids ensures the development of the French Sector in a global market estimated to be worth 30 billion Euros. Through its actions and the support it provides, the association hopes to create 10 000 direct jobs in France by 2020, and a revenue of 6 billion Euros.

To best address the needs of the French smart grids Sector, Think Smartgrids is supported by a Scientific Council, a Work group and three Committees, chaired by leading figures and bringing together key stakeholders in the sector.

Think Smartgrids’ Key Missions

To promote French smart grids solutions, The Think Smartgrids Association organises events in France and abroad. Think Smartgrids also supports SMB and ensures the representation of its Members to public authorities and European or international governmental bodies.

Simultaneously, Think Smartgrids undertakes a national inventory of the smart grids Sector, of its demonstrators and show-rooms, in order to promote their accomplishments around the world. The association is also developing a catalogue of existing training modules. Think Smartgrids communicates on the topics and key issues of the smart grids Sector, in France and abroad.

The Think Smartgrids Association is responsible for:

➤ Federating and developing the smart grids Sector in France;
➤ Promoting the sector in Europe and across the world;
➤ Representing its members and their accomplishments among the industry’s key stakeholders.

Background

The creation of Think Smartgrids is the concrete implementation of one of the 10 actions in the “REI” roadmap for a New Industrial France presented to the French President on May 7th 2014 by Dominique Maillard (then Chairman and leader of the “REI” plan).

Think Smartgrids was created in April 2015.

Think Smartgrids has now 80+ members.
